Ardville Stud is run by the Somerville family in the beautiful rural surroundings of Belleek, Co Fermanagh. Jane & Ernie, along with their sons David & Ethan, live and breath native ponies and are regulars on the showing circuit. The family has worked with ponies all their lives and have spent years perfecting their craft and the result is Ardville Stud and the champion stock that it produces.
At the heart of Ardville is the much loved Ganty Blazer. Ganty is a Pure Bred Grey Connemara and carries very old blood lines. He is one of the last stallions closely related to the famous 15.2 hh Dundrum, who was ridden so successfully by Tommy Wade, jumping 7ft 2" in Wembly in the 60's.
We aim to breed top quality youngstock with good confirmation and movement, and over the years have bred some top draw stock. All our youngsters are well handled by the family as foals, are wormed and see the farrier on a regular basis throughout their growing years.
